If you've been thinking about showcasing your business, art, or food, now's the time to claim your spot for the 51st Annual Atlantic Antic. Vendor applications are now open for the street festival returning on September 27. It’s free for all ages and is a rain or shine event. You can find more info and apply here.
For the property lovers, there's a jaw-dropping new listing on Willoughby Avenue that's worth a look. This renovated 20-foot-wide brownstone pairs restored historic details with modern luxuries, from a Calacatta Viola kitchen with a La Cornue range to a spa-like primary suite, heated bathroom floors, and a handcrafted redwood wine cellar. The $7.5M prewar property is configured as a two-family home with an owner's triplex above a garden apartment.
The Bed-Stuy Block Association is looking for volunteers for their block party on August 9th. They have a variety of shifts and activities like event set up, artist assistance and social media coverage available to sign up for. You can sign up on using this form. They’re also currently fundraising for their new (and first) community large-scale mural on the corner of Jefferson Ave. and Tompkins Ave. if you would like to support the community in other ways!
Maya Congee Cafe, has launched a new evening concept, Maya – A House of Rice, at their Clinton Hill location. This new dinner service took over a year to execute and is aimed to celebrate the flavors of Chinese cuisine. Owner Layla Chen notes that the “menu is approachable for all types of people and all types of occasions”. You can read more about it on Hell Gate.
The historic Jacob Riis Bathhouse will reopen on August 7 as the Rockaway Ocean Club. The $88 million redevelopment combines public amenities with a members-only club. The opening will be in two parts with the first including a café, bar, pool, and limited programming, while the hotel, restaurants, and full retail offerings are expected to debut in 2027. Memberships are already available although about 60% of the building will remain public. You can find out more info on their site.

Tell us about yourself (the many things you do outside of Clinton & Greene, fun facts or thoughts you’d like to share with the community!)
I am originally from Australia but have been living here for over a decade. I like hot yoga, spending time by the water, and constantly rotating through crafty hobbies (my real hobby is shopping for hobbies). I’m a self-proclaimed coffee connoisseur, avid Citi Biker, and volunteer at @flatbushcats. I work a 9-to-5 in consumer trends and forecasting, and I happen to have the world’s cutest little cat (Junie), which is a completely unbiased take ;)
When did you move to the neighborhood and how did you decide to live here?
I ended up in Clinton Hill on a whim. I came for a summer sublet with every intention of leaving afterwards, but here I am four years later.
What are some of the things you love about the neighborhood?
I love how much people love living here. I have yet to meet someone who feels indifferent about this neighborhood. I also love how scenic it is – I’m constantly pulling out my phone to take a photo of a vine-covered brownstone, the trees changing with the seasons, or the streets packed with people (and DJs) on Halloween.
What are some local businesses you love?
Making this list was beyond difficult!!

Brooklyn Conservatory of Music’s Midsummer Nights returns with 3 more free outdoor concerts on their front stoop this summer. Curated by jazz musician Melanie Charles, the series highlights artists blending jazz with soul, R&B, Haitian roots music, and other genre-defying sounds. Catch a sneak peek of what you can expect here as we stopped by last week to check it out and had so much fun!
Friday, July 31 & Saturday, August 1:
Chef Chaz Pop-Up (4pm– sold out): Creole classics are back at Frog’s backyard after selling out last time. Bring your friends, share a bottle, and come hungry. Preorders are recommended if you can and note the menu may change slightly between the days.
Friday, August 31 (tomorrow):
No Dancing Allowed Vo.1 (6pm–10pm): A new monthly gathering at Prima celebrating thoughtfully selected wines from Emmanuel Muhammad of Aware Wine and @Enology.Prjts. Inspired by NYC’s historic cabaret law, the event invites guests to sip, discover new bottles, and try their best to stay seated once the music starts.
Saturday, August 1:
National Jamaican Patty Day (all day): Golden Krust on Fulton (and all of their locations) is celebrating with a BOGO patty deal. The offer is available in-store at all locations, with delivery app orders also included from July 30 through August 2.
Su’juk Turns Fourteen! (3pm–8pm): Help Su'juk (Clinton Hill) celebrate 14 years with an afternoon of DJs, portraits by film photographer Montana Ray, and a special collaboration drink with Golden Ratio. You can either schedule a portrait session from 4-7pm for 30 minutes of photoplay or do a drop in reservation free from 7-8pm!
Ruiqi’s Pop-Up Bakery (5pm+): The Great American Baking Show winner, Ruiqi, is popping up at Doppelgänger this weekend. They'll have a lineup of sweet and savory bakes roasted garlic focaccia and Earl Grey whiskey lemon cake.
Sunday, August 9:
A very Berry Stoop Scoops (1pm–6pm): They’re back with more small-batch, handmade ice cream flavors like Strawberry Pretzel Jello, Blackberry Miso, and Cherry Limeade Sorbet. We stopped by their last stoop scooping day, which you can check out here to see more about their journey.
Thursday, August 13:
Zine Release Party! (7pm+): Park Slope photographer Noah Eberhart is celebrating the launch of his first film photography collection with an evening at Doppelgänger. You can expect an evening of vinyl music, prints for sale, cocktails, and maybe even a giveaway. You can also preorder the zine here.
